UNYA Denmark is a youth-led (15-35 y.o.) non-profit organization that works to promote and raise awareness amongst youth about the United Nations, as well as UN-affiliated causes, values, and issues. We want to be a place where empathetic, passionate youth can show up, engage, and learn about the world. We want to enable anyone with ideas on how to improve the state of the world or support of the Global Goals can show up and be given tools to impact their local community and be heard by a motivated and globally-minded audience.

MAKE YOUR MARK – GET INVOLVED HERE

Our purpose is to…

  • educate young people and the community about the work and values of the United Nations;
  • empower young people to get involved in international affairs and civil society;
  • represent the views of young people at a local, national and international level; and
  • act as a forum for young people to network and socialize.

At UNYA, we offer a space where knowledge, ideas, and solutions can be gained and shared among youth. We want to be a place where you can be heard. We want to be a place where empathetic, passionate youth can show up, engage, and learn about the world – where anyone with ideas on how to improve the state of the world or support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals can show up and be heard by a motivated and globally-minded audience. Whether you are a student wanting to present your dissertation on eco-cities, a professor wanting to present your new book on human rights during humanitarian crises, or a volunteer who wants to organize a city clean-up in your local community, we are ready to support you right here and be the medium and amplifier of your voice.

UNYA Denmark’s Organizational Structure

At UNYA we have a different organizational philosophy. Though we have a traditional board – secretariat structure – we encourage ALL members to come up with projects that they are passionate about. UNYA is structured around our SDG Youth Advocates Program which are specialized working groups dedicated to specific Sustainable Development Goals. We actively encourage all volunteers to initiate and lead initiatives such as events, publications, and other means to foster discussion and advocacy for these goals. Our approach has received overwhelming enthusiasm from volunteers and has led to the creation of numerous successful projects, events, and collaborations.
